FIVE candidates will contest Campaspe Shire’s Kyabram ward next month.
All were invited to take part in a questionnaire with Henry Russell Longuehaye-Hooper the only candidate to refuse after being unable to access the questions in advance.
The rest of the responses are below in ballot order.
What will you bring to the council chamber?
EXPERIENCE, a willingness to consider an issue on its merits. I certainly don’t bring pre-conceived ideas to the table.
But a willingness to work with others and to get good outcomes for the whole shire and that can be a challenge when you operate in a ward structure because those who elect you see you as representing them but you’ve got to consider the whole shire in your decision making.
I WILL bring a really broad background.
And a sense of fairness and awareness of the potential of the shire, and a desire to maximise that.
TO WORK as a whole community not just work for own ward or zone. I think it’s important that there is no divide.
We are one community and while you will be asked specific things for your ward, you have to work for your entire community.
I WILL bring a lot of experience.
Being the manager of planning with referral authorities, I deal with 23 local government areas.
So basically I offer lots of strategy and innovation, which would result in better community outcomes.
